StopTech E39 5 Series (96+) 355mm REAR Brake Kit

Stoptech big brake kits are designed for ultimate performance instead of a piece of "eye-candy". We have worked with Stoptech on the design of their E36 M3 kit and custom applications for our World Challenge cars and no one puts more effort into making a brake kit absolutely perfect.

Calipers: The Stoptech ST-40 is a completely new caliper, designed specifically to perform on the street and track. The Patent Pending "Bolt-in" Bridge is unique, making the ST-40 three times stiffer than the competition. The ST-40 offers 8 different piston diameters to choose from, so the caliper can be made specifically for any application. This is what has allowed Stoptech to build brake kits that are perfectly balanced to work with your stock braking system, unlike other kits which throw off the balance. The ST-40 can be made to fit from 28 to 35mm thick rotors and 328 to 355mm rotor diameters. Dust boots are standard on all street calipers, and commonly available pad wear sensors can be used.

Though the ST-40 will mount in the same place as a Brembo F-40 or F-50 caliper and uses common pistons and seals, it is a superior caliper in terms of stiffness, versatility and price. Porsche Big Red calipers have a taller pad and require a larger rotor annulus (heavier rotor). While this taller pad sometimes lasts longer, for a given rotor and piston size the brake torque is less.

• 2-Piece 355mm x 32mm floating directional AeroRotors, drilled or slotted
• 7075 T-6 billet aluminum directional hats with anti-rattle hardware
• 4-Piston ST40 calipers, sized to M5 master cylinder, painted red or black
• Stainless steel brake lines
• Hawk HPS brake pads
• Typically requires 18" wheels, fits stock M5 wheels and 17" BMW Style 66M wheels.
