*High performance fans have increased depth
(3.39") and create a limited space between engine and radiator on some
models. There is about .25" clearance on a 6 cyl. E36.
**Modifications must be made to radiator support
and water pump for proper clearance.

and is suggested for race use only.

I had the HPF fan clutch before i did the electric fan, and it seemed like that was taking a lot of power from the Engine on 1st gear, making the car Jerky when accelerating on take off. after the install the car got smooth, and no more jerk or way less tension on the engine now. should of came from the factory with the electric fan. i have it on all the time when the car turns on, and 10 sec on when car turned off. I love it, no more heating up. mine is a pull style fan.

Bought fan # 30100400 intended for an E30 S52 swap. Worked great. Fan was thin enough to fit, though it is a close fit.

Very slim design, perfect for replacing stock e36 electric fan. I used this one to clear my intercooler.
powerful and lightweight

I found the 13" slim fan to be enough for my old 2002. It's light and draws so little power I just run it all the time. 5 stars for the product, I gave it 4 only because I had to do a LOT of research, then still guess when it came to mounting options. SPAL's website wasn't much help and other sites list more technical data than they do.
