Red Line transmission lubricants and fluids provide
excellent protection for your car, under both street and track use.
We carry the most popular formulations to fit your particular
application:
MTL (manual
transmission lube) - a 70W80 GL-4 gear oil for use in manual
transmissions on both street and track. Provides excellent
protection of gears, synchronizers, and bushings. Shifts well when
cold and allows for fast shifts when warm. MTL has the appropriate
coefficient of friction for most early BMW manual transmission
synchronizers (many gear oils, engine oils, and ATFs are too
slippery for proper synchro engagement). The wide viscosity of MTL
allow proper shifting over the entire temperature range which the
transmission will experience. The synthetic base oils used have a
very high viscosity index which provides relatively constant
viscosity as temperature changes. MTL is a low 70W at very low
temperatures and a high 80W, nearly an 85W, at elevated
temperatures, providing adequate viscosity to prevent wear and
deaden gear noise.
MT-90 - A 75W90 GL-4
gear oil recommended for use in manual transmissions on the track
(excluding '06+ Xi manual transmission). Provides excellent
protection of gears, synchronizers, and bushings at higher
temperatures. MT-90 is a thicker 75W90 version of MTL. The shear
stability and oxidation stability of MT-90 is excellent, thus the
physical characteristics of Red Line MT-90 will change little with
use. Not recommended for street use in cold
climates.
D4 ATF -
D4 ATF also provides a GL-4 level of gear protection, making it a
superior product for BMW manual transmissions from 1993 onward and
all automatics. The balanced frictional characteristics provide
smooth and consistent shifts for extended drain intervals. The
superior stability compared to petroleum ATFs allows
high-temperature operation without varnishing valves and clutches
which leads to transmission failure. It’s stability allows
high-temperature operation without varnishing valves and clutches.
Also provides improved shifting in cold
weather.
D6 ATF - Red Line D6
ATF satisfies the requirements for BMW's modern ('06+) Xi manual
transmission. This transmission requires consistent, low-viscosity
fluids that are shear-stable.
It provides the best low-temperature shiftability. Also satisfies
API 70W/75W GL-4 gear requirements
Racing ATF
-
Designed for use in racing automatic transmissions which need the
positive shift of a Type-F automatic transmission fluid, Racing ATF
contains no slipperiness additives, producing faster shifts and
quicker lock-up, and can reduce elapsed time in drag racing. A
higher viscosity compared to conventional Type-F transmission
fluids provides higher torque converter efficiency at higher
temperatures and the enhanced extreme-pressure protection provides
five-times better film strength when compared to petroleum ATFs,
reducing gear and clutch wear
considerably.
MT-85
- Appropriate coefficient of friction for most manual transmission
synchronizers (other's synthetic gear oils are often too slippery
for proper syncro engagement). Excellent gear and syncro
protection, balanced slipperiness for easier shifting in cold
climates. Safe for brass syncros, as it lacks the reactive sulfurs
found in most GL-5 oils that cause damage. Recommended for GL-1,
GL-3, and GL-4 applications, as well as where most special
synchromesh fluids are specified. Compatible with petroleums and
other synthetics.
Sold per quart.
