Red
Line’s new Engine Oil Break-In Additive provides conventional motor
oils with anti-wear additives like zinc and phosphorus (ZDDP)
necessary to protect against premature camshaft and valvetrain
wear.
Street Car
Applications
This
additive is a great addition to street cars that use API approved
oils such as Mobil 1, Catrol Syntec, and BMW Synthetics. To comply
with API's new emissions standards, these oils lack the necessary
ZDDP and anti-wear packages needed for long term ownership and use.
We suggest using a half bottle of Red Line Break-In Additive with
every oil change if you are not using a synthetic oil containing a
proper ZDDP anti-wear package such as Red Line. This is especially
important concerning the valvetrain where larger camshafts grinds
and higher valve spring pressures are used. This additive is
designed to allow pistons rings to seat properly, while allowing
other engine components to avoid excessive wear.
Track/Race
Applications
Track and race cars can also benefit from the use of Redline's
Break-In Additive. This is a great addition to a conventional oil
fill during the first few hundred miles of break-in. The additive
allows for a proper piston ring break-in while reducing the
camshaft's initial break-in wear. Continual use of Red Line Engine
Oil Break-In will increase the longevity of your
investment.
One
16oz bottle treats up to 12 quarts of motor oil, so in many cases
one bottle can protect for 2 oil services.
