This new series of seat is the most
advanced and protective road racing seat available. Made using the
Viper shell profile with square shoulders that don't roll/hunch
your shoulders forward - and that will fully catch your body in a
side impact instead of allowing you to slip out of the seat. The
Racetech is one of the few seats on the market designed to hold
your body in a side impact because it is also one of the few that
won't break in a crash test with this full mass held in place.
Additionally, the extensive use of high-density energy absorbing
foam will protect your body in extreme impacts - tested and
approved to meet new FIA 8862 standards, up to 70g even in the
difficult-to-pass lateral direction!
The BimmerWorld team has used
Racetech seats for the last five years in every pro car we run and
we feel that the added safety from these seats is critical to give
our drivers the most possible protection in this dangerous
environment. After sitting in literally every seat on the market,
these are the most comfortable and best fitting for a range of
drivers. And beyond comfort, these seats fit properly,
meaning they will do the job they were made to do most
effectively.
To meet the most recent FIA
requirements these seats were homologated for (including the 70g
side impact and a 10 year use certificate), these seats require use
of the included side mounts and seat back mount (additional
fabrication required) as part of an engineered mounting solution.
Since this FIA standard has yet to be seen in the US, usage in your
sanctioning body may not require the seat back brace.
Like Racetech 4009HRV seats, the
4129HR/9129HR seats feature extensive lateral support in both thigh
and torso areas to minimize fatigue and for added operational and
crash support. Constructed with an FRP fiberglass and
Kevlar/carbon-fiber shell, durable foam padding, removable cushions
mid-back to lower thigh. Cover is black fabric fire-retardant to
FIA 8862 standards. Back air port for ducting in driver cooling air
is standard.
- 4129/9129HRW - fits most smaller to
average drivers
- 4129/9129WTHR - fits taller drivers
requiring a wider seat (typically 34-38" waist)
