Higher precision and tolerances give you a rotor
that will reduce drag, eliminate pulsation and vibration, and reduce heat
transfer. And, wear is increased as well! Two pounds per rotor lighter with a dimpled finish that performs similar to slotted discs but without the wear.
Direct Drive rotors require a higher initial
investment versus BMW Motorsport or floating rotors due to their superior
quality but the service cost of replacing the rotors are very similar. Please
refer to the Direct Drive replacement disc listing for prices.
We ONLY suggest Performance Friction
pads to work in conjunction with Direct Drive rotors*.
the Performance BMW article and review - 3MB
Includes fully assembled hat, directional rotor, and Direct Drive™ mounting hardware.
Prices are per SINGLE rotor. Replacement discs also available.
* Some aftermarket and OEM brake pad manufacturers
have a taller profile than Performance Friction pads. We have noticed these types of
taller profile pads becoming too close to the bottom of the friction area of the disc and can create a
stress riser causing premature fatigue of the disc. When cold, there must be 2mm
of space between the bottom of the pad and the bottom of the friction disc where
the fingers meat the friction area. As the rotor gets hot and expands this space
will diminish. To reduce the chance of this issue arising, we suggest only using
Performance Friction pads with Direct Drive rotors.

100% track compounds.

Best Quality Rotor
From jsa310 of Smyrna , Georgia on 9/30/2011.
This is the best quality rotor I could find for my E36 M3. I can't wait to try them out on track, but so far they feel amazing on the street.
Excellent Track Performance
From Byron of Brentwood, California on 6/10/2009.
The PF Direct Drive Rotors have proven to be a significant step-above from the Euro E36 M3 floating rotors I had.In comparing the same brake-pad compound (Ferodo DS2500) on the same track (Thunderhill), my E36/8 M coupe was able to brake deeper, more consistently, and with much better feedback.Well done, Performance Friction!
If not a big brake kit, get these
From tfunk of sterling, Virginia on 9/23/2008.
These rotors are awesome, initially a bit more expensive than stock but performance is worth it. And then since you only have to change the friction ring eventually they are cheaper than stock. Fronts lasted 45k miles, approx 2500 of it track, rears are still going. I would definitely also recommend the brass guides for the caliper to even out rotor and pad wear.
Great brake rotors
From thehounder of Streamwood, Illinois on 2/6/2008.
Very pleased with the performance as well as the overall construction of these rotors. They are so well made I would like to hang them up on my wall as art.
From Bassem of Livermore, California on 7/11/2007.
With blanks so cheap, it was hard to initially justify the extra cost of these. But they really are as advertised: excellent in all attributes. Used them with PF97s on my street weight E36 for 8 on-track hours at Sears Point and Laguna so far, and the rotors are virtually the same thickness. Still no pad knock-back either. Great product and highly recommended.
