Meyle HD and Replacement E46 3 Series/Z4 Front Control Arm Bushing Sets

The E46 3 Series (1999-2006) and E85/6 Z4 (2002-2008) have pre-mature wear issues with the factory front control arm bushings that can create a shuttering steering wheel under braking and uneven tire wear. This bushing is located at the back of the front control arm and is the key location for reducing NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) from entering the cabin through the front suspension. Though the factory front control arm bushings do a great job of reducing NVH with it's fluid filled design, they can wear quickly. Instead of installing another set of genuine BMW bushings that will become worn in a short period of time, we suggest upgrading to aftermarket bushings manufacturers that have addressed the issues found with the factory bushings. E46/Z4 drivers that use their cars 100% on the street might not be interested in the performance enhancement of polyurethane bushings though they can greatly increase steering feedback and longevity while only increasing NVH minimally. For these types of customers we offer these factory-improved options:

• Meyle HD Bushing Set - This set is solid rubber to increase longevity compared to the stock, fluid filled bushing. These do not increase performance or steering feedback but do have an expected service life of twice the stock bushing. NVH is not increased over the factory bushing. The Meyle HD bushings are 66mm in diameter and only fit the 2001+ model year alloy housings. If you have a pre-2001 E46 3 Series please measure your housing diameter before ordering since your car could still have the older 60mm bushings. If so, we suggest upgrading to the 66mm bushing housing kit** as they are a direct fit. Bushings come with new hardware.
• Replacement Bushing Set - We have worked with an aftermarket supplier to develop this inexpensive control arm bushing option for budget minded E46/Z4 owners. These 66mm control arm bushings incorporate a solid rubber design, much like the Meyle HD bushing set, that alleviates the fail-prone fluid filled design of the factory bushing. These aftermarket bushings comes pre-pressed into new alloy housings for a direct fit for all E46 3 Series and Z4 cars (excluding M and Xi cars).
• Xi Specific Bushing Set - In addition to these factory-improved bushings, we also have front control arm bushings available for E46 3 Series Xi all wheel drive models. These bushings are stock type replacement bushings and will need to be pressed into the existing housings. We also have polyurethane performance bushings available.

Applications include:

• All E46 3 Series cars (including ZHP models) produced from 1999 to 2006 excluding the M3. Xi (all wheel drive models) have separate selection available in drop down box. E46 3 Series cars before 2001 model year will need to measure the outside diameter of their current front control arm bushings before ordering the Meyle HD bushings without brackets. If you are ordering bushings with brackets you will not have to measure your current bracket size as noted above.
• All E85 and E86 Z4 non-M models produced from 2002 to 2008 excluding the MZ4.

**Meyle HD 66mm front control arm bushings are also available pre-pressed into new alloy housings for individuals who do not have access to a hydraulic press.

Sold per pair as needed for one car. The customer will receive what is in the image of the selected product.
