These nuts have a habit of coming off in track situations,
leaving you with no oil pressure and a blown engine. This
nut, pre-drilled for safety wire, is the proper solution to the
problem. A must if you track your car.
all 6 cylinder E36/E46 3 Series, Z3/Z4, and E34/E39 5 Series,
except Euro S50 (E36 M3 Euro models) and all S54 (E46 M3, 2002+
MZ3/MZ4). Includes safety wire to complete installation, oil pan
gasket available separately (model dependant). On reinstall, torque
to 17 ft-lb.

By drilling two .050 holes in the solid oil pump wheel, this nut can be used. 2 small holes will not hurt the integrity of the sprocket.

Quality of the product seems excellent, however it does not fit my Euro S50B32 since it does have a solid wheel, so it is not possible to secure the safety wire anywhere. Entirely my fault for not checking the wheel before ordering. Just thought I'd point this out here so others won't make the same mistake as I did.

The lock wire that was provided is maybe half the length of the one pictured. However it was long enough for me to wrap it on properly so I can not complain too much. All in all its a great solution to those who have no welder, and dont have the funds to upgrade the oil pump design, or convert to a dry sump.
