Race winning technology utilized
for ultimate street/track performance!
The E9X M3 comes from the factory
with outstanding brakes for street use but can be limiting for
experienced drivers looking to get 100% out of their ultimate
driving machine. We have assembled a kit comprised of our best
brake products for the E9X M3 to increase the stopping ability in
street, track, or race conditions.
We looked at the braking system and
found weak links that could hinder high performance braking ability
and improved them with the absolute best products in the
aftermarket. The E9X M3 comes
from the factory with brake pads engineered for performance street
use where elevated temperature typically is not a concern. The
factory front rotors are a semi-floating drilled design that still
leaves performance and weight on the table. Also, the factory E9X
M3 rotors are drilled which performs better than a blank rotor on
the street but tend to crack on the track from elevated
temperatures. The Performance Friction Direct Drive rotors are
dimpled to create the advantages of a drilled rotor without the
tendencies to crack with heat. Unsprung weight is also a concern
for modern auto enthusiasts due to the ever increasing size and
weight of the car itself. The factory brake lines are standard
rubber, much like the non-M 3 Series. These rubber lines can expand
due to increased pressure and temperature resulting in a soft pedal
and reduced brake feedback. And last but not least, the factory
brake fluid is not stable at track temperatures and has a tendency
to boil, allowing air in the brake's hydraulic system. Considerable
fade is a result of this issue and a common problem for track day
attendees.
To combat these issues we have
assembled these premium aftermarket components into one package for
ultimate brake performance:
- Performance Friction Direct
Drive™ two piece floating front rotor set - Floating front rotor set allows for an even
expansion of the disc for reduced rotor run-out, and better pad
wear. Direct Drive rotors have extremely high tolerances for
ultimate performance in the most demanding situations. Discs are
dimple drilled to increase the friction coefficient and aid in pad
liner "cleaning" without the tendency to crack under extreme heat
like the stock drilled rotor.
- Performance Friction
Z-Rated, Carbon Metallic 01 race pad set, or Carbon Metallic
08 race pad set front and rear* -
Our kit comes with the option of Performance Friction Z-Rated
performance street/track pads or Carbon Metallic 01 track/race
pads. Either option is the ultimate pad set for their intended
environment. Z-Rated street/track pads offer low dust and noise
with excellent bite, cold or hot. They are an ideal compromise for
customers not wanting to change their pads before a track event.
Z-Rated pads can handle elevated temperatures of an auto-x or
driving school, but are not suggested for track event where
extremely high brake temperatures are expected. For E9X M3s seeing
considerable amounts of track and race use, we suggest Performance
Friction's Carbon Metallic 01 pad set or Performance Friction's
Carbon Metallic 08 endurance pad set, front and rear. This pad set
offers excellent bite and modulation, a consistent long life, and
strong resistance to heat induced fade. Carbon Metallic race pads
are not suggested for street use but can be used to get to and from
the track.
- BimmerWorld EVO complete
stainless steel brake line set - Our brake lines feature a non-expansive Teflon® center
core, surrounded by braided stainless steel for durability and
abrasion resistance. Lines are sheathed with an attractive blue
plastic cover for a clean look and to prevent debris from working
into the stainless braids. EVO lines are tested to at least
3,000psi, and stamped with our DOT approval number. This DOT stamp
is the government's approval that our manufacturing process
produces lines able to endure rigorous testing that simulates road
use. This 3 digit stamp on each of our lines ensures that every
line is made and tested to DOT standards, with the DOT stamp of
approval - not just "made to DOT standards" or "DOT compliant" like
many other brands.
- Motul RBF 600 racing brake
fluid (2 500ml
containers) - Motul 600 offers extremely high dry and wet
boiling points help prevent vapor lock and brake fade during hard
use. The dry boiling point is is an incredible 593°F, far exceeding
the stock brake fluid. What is even more important, as the fluid
ages it naturally absorbs water. As it absorbs water throughout the
hydraulic system the boiling point will decrease. Motul 600 has a
extremely high "wet" boiling point (420°F) allowing for high
performance even when the fluid has age. This allows reduced brake
bleeding sessions at the track and longer flush intervals. Motul
600 exceeds DOT 4 requirements and is acceptable for modern brake
systems incorporating ABS.
*Customer has the option of
