Finally - a way to check fuel level
on your track car when the cluster is replaced by an AiM MXL
dash!
The BimmerWorld View
- In the past, this
has required pumping the fuel out or knowing your usage rate.
Crude market solutions using a resistor only lack the accuracy and
refinement of this piece developed specifically for this
application.
Converts a resistance based fuel sender to a 0-5 Volt signal
necessary for use with with AiM data acquisition systems that use
industry standard 0-5V sensor input for analog
channels. Much more than
just a simple voltage divider circuit, a custom circuit board,
IC's, and voltage regulators are used to produce the most accurate
output possible, which is quite important when a 0.1V fluctuation
can mean as much as a 3-4 gallon reading difference and working
under the assumption that you like to finish races and value the
weight difference of seven pounds per gallon.
Damping is built into the sensor so
that the fuel slosh effect on the sensor output is
minimized.
Installation setup requires creating a
custom sensor for your AiM MXL, an easy and straight forward
task. Unit is plug and play for AiM MXL, EVO 3, EVO 4,
and Mychron 3 Auto units with included MXL extension cable and
binder connector. Usable for both track and street driven cars. Unit is
packaged in a durable plastic enclosure approximately 1.5x1.5
inches in size. Installation instructions included.
