Oil starvation is a threat to all tracked E36 cars, especially
when subjected to high braking and cornering loads and increased
RPMs. While a dip to 10psi of oil pressure (a common occurrence
with even baffled pan systems, whether your gauge is fast enough to
pick it up or not) will likely not destroy your engine if the RPMs
and load are relatively low, the engine life is decreased. Our dual
pickup kit, as used by most wet-sump E36 racing applications, has
one pickup front and one rear to reduce the possibility that you
will be sucking air into the engine. Additionally, the pump
supplies a higher base oil pressure which is important for a long
life at higher RPMs as well as maximum performance from engines
using lighter weight oils or that retain hydraulic
lifters.
Our complete kit comprised of Genuine BMW parts from S54 and
Euro applications and is a direct bolt-on for your 1992-1999 E36
BMW 6-cylinder car. Includes all parts needed to convert to a dual
sump system, light hand-fitting required in some
applications.
Euro E36 M3 and E46 M3 cars will not benefit from this
upgrade.
