The stock intake
plenum on your E46 M3 is great for what it does for a stock car -
it is very capable of moving the air required to make the stock 333
Hp and dampens engine intake noise. But if you are upgrading your
car with cams, headers, etc and are ready to move more air to make
big power, this carbon airbox has the proper design to support the
effort.
These airboxes are
reproductions of the BMW Motorsport and CSL parts with a few
changes to make them work even better. Made from high grade carbon
and very high quality construction, with internal trumpets, proper
fittings, unlike many cheap copies from Europe that only look the
same on the outside from 10'.
Available in three
versions to fit 2001-2006 M3. 2002+ MZ3, MZ4, and transplant cars with S54 engines
may require some
modification for fitment:
- Street/Race
(HFM) - 120mm intake, includes taper and mass air fitting, uses
external cone filter (not included). Can be converted for use with
alpha-N tuning later, but WILL NOT accept an internal filter. For
an internally stock engine, this version plenum makes the most
power.
- Street/Race
(Alpha-N Tune) - 120mm intake, internal BMW Motorsport panel
filter (included), fitting for air temp sensor (not included), no
mass air fitting. Requires alpha-N type ECU programming or
standalone engine management (inquire with us for options). This
plenum is great when packaging is an issue due to the internal
filter. Enlarge image for additional image showing internal
filter.
- Motorsport -
200mm intake, internal BMW Motorsport panel filter (included),
fitting for air temp sensor (not included), no mass air fitting.
Requires alpha-N type ECU programming or standalone engine
management (inquire with us for options).
Recommended for use ONLY on built race engines making 400+
Hp.
Non-HFM versions
require an alternate air temp sensor (PN 13 62 1 725 323) available
separately. Installation requires splicing a plug for this part to
your existing HFM wiring.
