Necessary Upgrade for your E30
From Daniel Sheen of Genting Highlands, Malaysia on .
Recently purchased this 25mm master cylinder to compliment my E30 5lug conversion using E36 M3 front and Z3 rear. The original master cylinder with the larger calipers gave me considerable pedal travel made me a bit nervous about braking distances but with the 25mm item the pedal has only about an inch of travel and feels very positive under my foot...
The original E30 master has 2 lines out for the front whereas this item only has one. You will need to use a 'T' piece or 'splitter' to run the one outlet from the master into the 2 hard brake lines on your E30. Any competent machine or brake shop can provide this reasonably cheap. Other than that, a complete plug ang play item.... And a MUST for any one wanting to drive their E30 hard..
A must have for any E30
From Justin of Prospect Hill, North Carolina on .
Wow! This master cylinder is a must have for any E30 whether you've upgraded your calipers or still retain the stock braking system. I just completed an E36 M3 5-lug swap on my E30 and the stock Master just couldn't perform. I put the 25mm Master on and holy cow the car changed in an instant. Why couldn't BMW have put this thing on in the first place!
Hard is more fun
From Ryan of Rockwall, Texas on .
I upgraded my stock E30 318iS setup to this master cylinder. Used in conjuction with SS brake lines and Hawk HPS pads, the pedal feel is ultra firm - hard is probably a better word for it. There is no slop at the top of the pedal travel and it grabs immediately. The pedal hardly moves until you get into it. It's just more fun when it is hard!
