The BMW Motorsport X Brace was initially designed specifically for the rare, M3 Lightweight for added chassis rigidity needed for high performance driving. The X Brace attaches to the front subframe and reinforces it to the frame rails behind the control arm bushing brackets. BMW later installed the X Brace on the E36 3 Series convertible to combat the inherent chassis flex associated with removing the roof. The brace works so well it has become a "no-brainer" installation for any performance-minded E36 or Z3 enthusiast. The icing on the cake is its a Genuine BMW part so fitment and quality are top notch.
