New V2Carbon
System uses carbon friction facings to drop weight an
additional 4 pounds from our V1 piece, increase durability, and
increase smoothness/reduce driveline shock. This new
technology makes a true carbon/carbon clutch (same materials used
in F1) obtainable in a very reasonable pricerange (past clutches
are a minimum of $5k).
This new BimmerWorld exclusive kit is the result
of years of research and work with high-performance clutch systems
for track and high-end street applications. More than just a
lightweight flywheel and a stock-based performance clutch, this kit
is engineered to provide a bulletproof clutch solution in the
lightest package available for maximum performance.
Features:
- Strapless
Pressure Plate - This feature was the catalyst for us to design
this kit. Stock-based pressure plates employ three segments of
straps to connect the stamped steel pressure plate housing to the
inner friction surface. In hard use applications, including higher
RPM use for both track and general spirited driving, these straps,
even when modified ultimately are the weakest point of a stock
clutch design - so we eliminated them! A CNCed billet pressure
plate is not nearly as cheap to produce as the factory stamping,
but it is the only solution that will hold up to hard use,
long-term.
- Carbon Friction Material - Our Strapless kit uses true
carbon/carbon friction, installed in replacable pucks on both the
flywheel, pressure ring, and disc surfaces. Carbon/carbon has
phenominal durability, very smooth engagement, high power-handling
threshold, and due to almost immediate heat dissipation will accept
slipping with no significant issues outside of the heat
created. Use of this material makes this clutch kit very
smooth on the street and on your racecars driveline as
well.
- Lightweight - Not only is the total product weight 18
pounds (8 pounds less than equivalent stock-based clutch and
lightweight flywheel option), but the clutch disc weighs in at a
mere 1.5 pounds, meaning your transmission synchros have less work
to do and your gearbox will last longer.
- Zero Balanced - Entire flywheel/pressure plate assembly is
zero balanced to eliminate harmonic issues.
- Fully Rebuildable - Both flywheel and pressure plate have
replacement wear surfaces for future rebuild and clutch disc can be
purchased separately.
- Stock Dimensions - Product specifications include a
single-disc clutch, stock 240mm disc diameter, and factory
attachment holes for the pressure plate, making this kit legal for
many racing applications.
- Throw-Out Bearing - Kit includes a throw-out with an
aluminum shuttle and replaceable bearing - no more melted factory
parts.

Tech Tip - Make sure you use a
properly-adjusted clutch stop with this and all clutch kits.
Moving your clutch pedal significantly past the engagement point
destroys the pressure plate fingers.
*This clutch will NOT fit E46 M3 models with SMG
transmission
