BimmerWorld's front suspension
overhaul kits are designed to bring your worn front suspension back
to new (or even better than new)! Our kits are comprised of
products we know work well and have sold for years with excellent
results. With our new overhaul kit we have added the option of five
different control arm bushings to fit your driving style. Also, for
the do-it-yourselfer, we have the option of pre-pressed control arm
bushings into new housings for an easy installation.
The control arms, tie rod
assemblies, and swaybar links included in this package are
manufactured by Meyle. Meyle has become a reputable aftermarket
manufacturer that takes a different approach to manufacturing
replacement parts. Meyle takes failure prone OE product designs and
improves them to last longer and perform better. These Meyle
control arms and swaybar links are called "Heavy Duty" and come
with a four year warranty. Tie rod assemblies and E30 control arms
are standard Meyle parts and come with a one year warranty. Meyle
products are TÜV approved and meet or exceed ISO
standards.
What makes a Meyle HD product
better?
- Meyle HD control arms incorporate
larger, heat treated, German made ball joints. The outer ball joint
is solid mounted to the arm just like a M3 control arm - E36 non-M
and Z3 cars have rubber mounted outer ball joints that are not
performance oriented and can wear with time. Upgrading to the solid
mounted Meyle HD arm will increase performance and longevity and
add no additional NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) to the
cabin.
- Meyle HD swaybar links incorporate
hardened metal ball joints for increase strength and longevity
compared to standard swaybar links.
Our front suspension overhaul kits
are designed to fit these popular models:
- E30 3 Series (except
325ix) and E30 M3 - The E30 non-M chassis
cars have the option of any control arm bushing set. The E30 M3
will need offset bushings to retain factory suspension geometry.
E30 3 Series arms are made by Meyle and have a one year
warranty
- E36 3 Series and E36
M3 - The E36 non-M chassis cars have the
option of any control arm bushing set. Though the '96-'99 M3 came
with centered bushings from the factory, offset bushings will be
needed to incorporate the specific Meyle control arms from this
package. The performance characteristics of the car will be
retained with this kit. E36 3 Series arms are Meyle Heavy Duty and
come with an extended four year warranty.
- Z3 and MZ3
- The Z3 non-M chassis cars have the option of any
control arm bushing set. Though the MZ3 came with centered bushings
from the factory, offset bushings will be needed to incorporate the
specific Meyle control arms from this package. The performance
characteristics of the car will be retained with this kit. Z3 arms
are Meyle Heavy Duty and come with an extended four year
warranty.
The kit has five different types of
control arm bushings to choose from (ALL M-cars will use offset
control arm bushings with this overhaul kit):
- Heavy Duty Rubber
Centered - These control arm bushings are
similar to the parts found on the '96-'99 E36 M3. They are a
semi-solid rubber design that is a great bushing for standard
street E30 and E36 3 Series cars along with Z3 cars. These bushings
will last much longer than standard rubber bushing and will not
increase NVH (noise, vibration, harshness). Handling precision will
be increases slightly over the standard non-M rubber
bushings.
- Heavy Duty Rubber
Offset* - These bushings offer the
same benefits as the heavy duty rubber bushings above but feature a
offset design for increase caster. The increased caster will aid in
high speed stability. E30 M3 and 1995 E36 M3 cars came stock with
offset control arm bushings.
- Powerflex Polyurethane
Centered - These bushings are made of a
polyurethane material that decrease bushing deflection over the
rubber bushings for better handling and steering feedback. We
suggest polyurethane for performance oriented
driving.
- Powerflex Polyurethane
Offset - These bushings offer the same
benefits as the polyurethane bushings above but feature a offset
design for increase caster. The increased caster will aid in high
speed stability. E30 M3 and 1995 E36 M3 cars came stock with offset
control arm bushings.
- BWSport TrackCAB Solid
Offset Mounts - designed for drivers
needing a solid control arm mounting solution without the added
maintenance of spherical joints. The forged bracket is offset to
increase caster for better high speed stability, creating the same
geometry as M3 cars. The mount incorporates Delrin bushings for a
no-deflection design and extended service intervals. With this
solid configuration turn-in and brake stability are also highly
improved. Another great feature of the TrackCAB set is ease of
installation - no press work required.
The overhaul kit offer two options
for mounting the control arm bushings to the chassis of the
car:
- Pre-Pressed - Bushings
arrive mounted in new housings - no press or extra work required.
TrackCABs also arrive fully assembled for installation.
- Bushings Only - For
customers who have access to a press and plan to re-use their
original brackets.
The overhaul kit has the option of
including Meyle tie rod assemblies (both inner and outer) and Meyle
HD swaybar links. Please use application chart below to confirm
your link style before ordering. If you are planning to incorporate
E36 M3/MZ3 strut-mount links on your non-M car, you will need to
use the appropriate strut housing.

* Due to the design of the Powerflex
