The track (lower) arms on BMW 5, 6,
7, 8, and X5 series cars can become worn as early as 90k miles and
will need to be replace to ensure the original driving
characteristics of your BMW. The arm includes the inner rubber
bushing and outer ball joint. If you are considering replacing the
thrust (upper) control arm, we suggest taking a close look at this
arm set as well before ordering.
We have 2 (some have 3*) different
arm choices, "OEM" (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and
"Aftermarket". "OEM" arms are typically from the manufacturer that
made the parts that were on your car as it rolled out from the
factory and "Aftermarket" arms are typically from east Asia and
have a comparable quality that has increased considerably over the
past few years. The "Aftermarket" alternative makes a great option
if you're on a tight budget but still want a quality
part.
We offer a Powerflex pre-pressed
polyurethane bushing upgrade**. If you choose to have your arms
pre-pressed with Powerflex urethane bushings, please check the box
for each arm purchased and also purchase the Powerflex
bushings from the listing below. The arms will come ready to
install, pressed and lubricated. Checking the box only includes
the press work; it does not include the bushings.
*E34 and E28 5 Series, and E32 7
Series have a OEM Steel and OEM Alloy option. The OEM Alloy options
is half the weight of the OEM Steel option and suggested for
performance driven vehicles. If you do not drive your vehicle
enthusiastically yet still want the added quality of a OEM arm, the
OEM Steel option will satisfy your needs.
**We currently do not have a
Powerflex bushing option for the E65 7 Series, E60 5 Series, or E23
7 Series. These will come with factory-style rubber
bushings.
