We have a great selection of
front control arms for 3 Series(Including Z3/Z4) models from
'84-'09, fitting any type of need or budget- street and
track.
The BMW 3 Series front suspension is
a basic, durable design incorporating a lower control arm* and
McPherson strut assembly. The lower control arm has pressed in
joints that can become worn, causing poor handling traits and bad
tire wear. We suggest replacing the entire arm and joints assembly
at one time for an easy installation and assurance of a new arm.
Also, if you have worn ball joints on one side of your bimmer,
there is a good chance the other arm is at the end of it's service
life as well. Therefore, we will typically suggest replacing the
arms is pairs.
E46/Z4 Control Arm- Our alloy
E46 3 Series/Z4 non-///M arm is a MEYLE** Heavy-Duty unit utilizing
a solid mounted outer ball joint similar to the M3 and 330i ZHP arm
for better road feel and increased service life***. We suggest this
arm for street and track cars as they do not increase NVH (Noise,
Vibration, Harshness). The E46 M3/MZ4 specific arm is Genuine BMW,
and is the only arm suggested for this model. The E46 Xi specific
arm is OEM and does not include a inner ball joint (available
separately). We also carry track-only spherical E46/Z4 race arms
with adjustable roll center ability.
E36/Z3 Control Arm- Our E36 3
Series/Z3 arm is a MEYLE** Heavy-Duty unit that utilizes a
solid mounted outer ball joint similar
to the M3/MZ3 for better road feel and increased service life. This
arm can be used on any E36/Z3 with the appropriate control arm
bushing (centered for non-///M cars and offset for M3s and
MZ3s****). The (Genuine BMW) '95 M3 arm is a proprietary
control arm that incorporates a solid mounted outer ball joint***.
The arm has the same geometry of a non-///M arm, but incorporates
an offset mounting bushing that moved the outer ball joint forward
for increased caster, resulting in better high speed road holding
ability. The (Genuine BMW) '96-'99 M3/MZ3 arm also has a solid
mounted outer ball joint, but incorporates the added caster into
the geometry of the arm instead of the bushing. The Meyle HD arm
can be used for any E36 M3/MZ3 with the addition of offset control
arm bushings. This is a great setup for owners on a budget,
street or track. We also carry track-only spherical E36/Z3 race
arms with adjustable roll center ability.
E30 Control Arm- Our E30 3
Series arm is a direct replacement MEYLE** arm fitting all E30
cars, excluding "ix". These arms offer the same quality of a OEM
arm at a better price point. E30 M3s can also take advantage of
these budget friendly arms though we offer the Genuine BMW alloy
arms for this application as well. The E30 M3 alloy arm can be used
on any E30 or E36 (excluding awd models) looking to reduce unsprung
weight. We carry Genuine BMW "ix" specific control arms as
well. We also carry track-only
spherical E30 race arms with adjustable roll center
ability.
*The current E9X 3 Series secures
the strut assembly with 2 control arms per side for better dynamic
suspension geometry.
**All MEYLE products are TUV
approved. Germany's TUV approval system supercedes the DOT approval
for quality and safety. All MEYLE Heavy Duty arms bought after
1/1/2009 come with a 4 year warranty (MEYLE E30 arms have 1 year
warranty).
***Non-///M E36/E46/Z3 cars (excluding ZHP) came with rubber
mounted outer ball joints for
increased road isolation. This also reduces road feel and increases
the complexity of the joint resulting in premature wear.
****E36/Z3 non-///M cars seeing a
lot of track time can benefit from offset control arm bushings.
This will push the tire forward in the wheel well potentially
rubbing the lining with large tires.
